Shrewsbury Select Board Names Members To Town Committees

SHREWSBURY, MA — Several seats on town boards and committees were filled last week.

The Shrewsbury Select Board reappointed three individuals and appointed two individuals to boards and committees. The appointments took place during the board's July 14 meeting.

The appointments were:

• John Chenier, reappointed to the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee

• Melissa Scher, appointed to the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee

• Andrew Croxford, reappointed to the Sustainability Committee

• Ramesh Razdan, reappointed to the Sustainability Committee

• Lauren Olivier-Brock, appointed to the Historic District Commission

Chenier, Scher, Croxford and Razdan were named to three-year terms expiring June 30, 2029. Olivier-Brock was appointed to a one-year term expiring June 30, 2027, according to the board's July 14 agenda.

The DEIB Committee works to support an inclusive and equitable community for Shrewsbury residents, while the Sustainability Committee works on climate and environmental issues tied to public health, land use, solid waste, natural resources, energy efficiency and resiliency.

The Historic District Commission is a seven-member board charged with powers and duties under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 40C and Shrewsbury’s local bylaws. The commission’s work includes preserving and protecting buildings and places with historic significance.
