Shrewsbury Veterans Treatment Center Gets $25K Boost For Recovery
A Worcester-based nonprofit was awarded funding to expand recovery support for veterans at its Shrewsbury facility.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Veterans receiving substance use treatment at a Shrewsbury facility will receive additional support through a regional grant announced Wednesday.
Veterans Inc. was awarded $25,000 in pooled opioid abatement funds for its Recovery Through Complementary Care Program. The funding, awarded through the Providing Access, Treatment, and Hope Grant Program, will support a part-time care coordinator at Independence Hall, an inpatient substance use treatment center at 59 South St. in Shrewsbury.
The coordinator will help residents remain engaged in treatment and leave the facility with a stronger foundation for long-term recovery, according to the town.
