Shrewsbury Votes 'Yes' to New Project at Former Spag's Site
Shrewsbury voters approved the decision to develop the former Spag's property.

On Tuesday night, voters approved at a special town meeting to rezone land at the former Spag’s site on Route 9 from residential to commercial use. As reported by the Worcester Business Journal, the approval is for the property on the westbound side junction of Route 9 and Oak Street.
The meeting approved the rezoning of 9.6 acres, which consists of residential areas and a former bottling facility, as well as the Spag’s warehouse.

The developer of the Spags Warehouse/Former Chemlsford Building site is Sam Adams of Spagtacular at 335 Maple Ave. and 365 Boston Turnpike. Grossman Development plans to redevelop the former Spags store site at 193 Boston Tpke and a Whole Foods is among the businesses planned for the new development.
Grossman Development Corporation told Board of Selectmen earlier in the year it had plans for a “mixed use” development, according to the Telegram and Gazette.
