• Sowams Heritage Area Plan Reaches Barrington Council (upriseri.com) — Somerset is one of nine communities that could be included in a proposed Sowams National Heritage Area, a federally designated cultural and historical region now seeking congressional support. Local boards, including Somerset’s Select Board, have already endorsed the idea, which would not change zoning or property rights but could open doors to federal funding for preservation, education, tourism, and climate-resilience projects.
