2 Somerville Breweries Collaborate On PorchFest Beer

Here's how you can get your hands on the limited edition brew, which will raise funds for the School of Honk.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Two Somerville breweries are collaborating on a limited edition beer for this year's PorchFest. Porchbeer 2018, created by Aeronaut Brewing Co. and the Winter Hill Brewing Company, will raise money for the the School of Honk to purchase new instruments and fund programming.

Porchbeer 2018 is a Somerville Session - a collaborative hybrid beer. Using two different ale yeasts –Aeronaut's in-house hazy IPA yeast and WHB's Kolsch yeast – Porchbeer 2018 beer has clean light bready malt notes, aromas of white peach and pineapple with top notes of lime.

The stats: flavor is light stone fruits, pineapple, citrus and herbal notes, bitterness is low with a clean finish and ABV is 5.2 percent.

A limited volume of the release will appear at Somerville porches on May 12 with the option to donate online on the eventbrite or through the can's QR code. In addition, Aeronaut and WHB taprooms will have cans for sale and a limited amount on draft.

Pre-reservations of cases of Porchbeer 2018 are now available via https://aeronaut-porchbeer.eventbrite.com. All pre-reserved cans will be available for pick-up starting on Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m. until Saturday, May 12 at 12:30 p.m.
