42 Somerville Restaurants To Have Outdoor Dining Considered

The Licensing Commission will consider current outdoor seating license holders Wednesday and new applicants Friday.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The Licensing Commission on Wednesday will consider the approval of all current outdoor seating license holders to open for outdoor dining. There are currently 42 existing license holders, according to the Somerville Chamber of Commerce.

Approval will only be for the placement of outdoor seating on public and private property. It does not approve any other aspect of the current license.

If approved, restaurants will be able to open immediately under Phase 2 of Gov. Charlie Baker's reopening plan. Current license holders will be allowed to reduce their hours of operation without notifying the Licensing Commission.
