SOMERVILLE, MA — The following reports were received by Somerville Police between Friday, March 6 and Monday, March 9.

Friday, March 6

11 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering at a residence on Richdale Avenue. Officers spoke with a resident who reported the front door was torn off and a bicycle was stolen from the basement.

Sunday, March 8

2:18 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an assault in Davis Square. Officers spoke with a man who said he got into a verbal altercation with another person while picking up trash. He reported being struck in the head with a backpack by the person soon after.

Monday, March 9

7:31 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering at a residence on Highland Avenue. The reporting person told officers that people had broken into the building and cut electrical cords to washing machines.

Other crimes that were logged by police throughout that week include one motor vehicle theft, two package thefts, two motor vehicle vandalisms, two vehicle-break ins, two bike thefts, and one report of vandalism.
