Assembly Row Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

SOMERVILLE, MA – A man suspected of robbing an Assembly Row jewelry store was arrested in Boston Friday. Lorne Harrison, 53, of Mattapan, was taken into custody on a warrant for armed robbery and other charges.

Police in Somerville confirmed that Harrison is the suspect in the armed robbery of Kay Jewelers on Aug. 30. According to police, he entered the store around 2:24 p.m. and handed a shopping bag to the manager. He allegedly showed a 1911 .45-caliber gun and told the manager to "fill it."

He fled the store three minutes later, running into a parking garage and then leaving Somerville on the Orange Line, police said. The store estimated $30,000 in watches was stolen.

Harrison will be arraigned in federal court.
