Assembly Row Mural Pays Tribute to Big Papi

Muse Paintbar artist Brian "Bdub" Wentworth painted the homage to the Sox slugger at Somerville's Riverfest.

SOMERVILLE, MA – As Big Papi heads toward retirement, he has been immortalized with Legos, in a corn field and even as an ocean predator.

Somerville artist Brian "Bdub" Wentworth joined in on the fun during Riverfest, painting a mural to Ortiz over the course of five hours.

Big Papi is not the first sports icon Wentworth has honored with art; shortly after Muhammad Ali's death in June, the artist painted a graffiti mural in Cambridge's Modica Way, according to Boston Magazine.
