April 8 – June 24, 2016
Reception: May 19 from 6-8 PM
Boisali Biswas is a studio artist working in mixed-media fibers. She is originally from India, which is apparent in her work. Belonging: A Retrospection shows the underlying influences of the captivating traditional patterns and techniques and usage of stunningly rich array of colors in Indian art.
Boisali’s work emanates from her personal experiences and is influenced by images, people, places, feelings and emotions through life both in India and US. The soul of her work is as much Indian as it is Western. But there is always that tormenting question: where does she really belong? This exhibit is about that soul-searching, a retrospection
Belonging: A Retrospection opens Friday, April 8th, but don’t miss out on the reception which will take place Thursday, May 19th from 6-8 PM. Through Boisali’s work you can ask yourselves the question, “where do I belong?”.
