Beyond “Grant Writing 101” Workshop on Friday, September 25, 10:00am- 1:00pm

SCATV is offering two workshops with experienced grant writer and educator Ellen Gugel (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ellengugel). The workshops are geared to the non-profit professional who is interested learning how to research applicable grants and create successful proposals. The classes will be held at the The Parenting Journey, 366 Somerville Avenue, Somerville on September 18 and 25 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The first workshop will cover grant-seeking, and the second grant writing. Each workshop is $50. Refreshments will be provided.

About this workshop: This “deep dive” advanced grant writing workshop builds on your basic grant writing skills and knowledge. Developing a solid, fundable grant proposal goes beyond good writing and organizing, and this workshop will cover advanced topics including budgets, logic models, cover letters, leveraging resources and partnerships, and others. We’ll ask the tough questions that help us create proposals that get funded, stay funded, and are aligned with our organization’s mission and priorities. Participants will learn the strategic plan of grant writing, by writing exercises that help them write an executive summary and other sections. This workshop will be a combination lecture, interactive exercises, writing exercises, and discussion. Participants will leave the class understanding how to research, write and develop their specific project.

This workshop is for those who have grant writing knowledge either from taking the Introduction to Grant Writing workshop, another introductory grant writing class, or from practicing grant writing.

• Understand how the project budget fits with the narrative and its importance
