Boston Comedy Festival In Somerville: Dates, Acts, Where To Watch

The festival will host shows at various spots in the Somerville area from Sept. 20-24.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The Boston Comedy Festival returns this year for five days of laughs in the Somerville area. Shows will primarily take place at area clubs and restaurants, and the Somerville Theatre. Events include a stand-up comedy contest, performances by featured comics, live sketches, short films and more.

The festival runs from Sept. 20-24. Here's who will be performing, where you can see them and how to buy tickets.

Wednesday, Sept. 20

  • Stand-up Contest Preliminary Round 1 (Hosted by Tom Dustin, featuring Orlando Baxter): 7 p.m. at The Rockwell.
  • Stand-up Contest Preliminary Round 2 (Hosted by Kendra Cunningham, featuring Dan Boulger): 7 p.m. at The Burren
  • Michelle Buteau: 7 p.m. at Once Ballroom
  • Storytellers: Comics Tell Stories With a Live Band: 8 p.m. at PA's Lounge
