<a href="https://www.projectstep.org/events/annual-spring-benefit/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Project STEP</a> Spring Recital in Collaboration with the Tony Williams Dance Center Collaborative Project takes place Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 3 pm at Boston College High School. The event is free and open to the public with no RSVP required.
Presented by Project STEP (String Training Education Program), the recital showcases talented young musicians performing on violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Project STEP provides long-term, high-quality music training, support services, and scholarships for students from backgrounds underrepresented in classical music, helping them build musicianship, confidence, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the stage.
This event is sponsored in part by The Gregory E. Bulger Foundation and supported by the Mass Cultural Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional support from the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation, the D’Addario Foundation, and The Mary Saudek Jaffee Fund. The recital will be held at Boston College High School but is not a Boston College High School sponsored event.

The Improbable Beasts bass clarinet ensemble, with special guests Meryl Summers(bassoon) and Solon Gordon (piano) present “We Rise,” a program of music about coming together in the midst of adversity, and rising up in community.
Beasts director Jonathan Russell will be joined by pianist Solon Gordon and bassoonist Meryl Summers in his compositional response to the dislocations and disruptions of our current moment called “We Reflect, We Grieve, We Rise.” 
After this, the Beasts present two more of Russell’s original compositions and close with a rousing rendition of the African American Spiritual and protest song “Down by the Riverside.” 
Come join the Beasts for a memorable afternoon of moving and rousing music.

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more.
