<a href="https://www.projectstep.org/events/annual-spring-benefit/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Project STEP</a> Spring Recital in Collaboration with the Tony Williams Dance Center Collaborative Project takes place Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 3 pm at Boston College High School. The event is free and open to the public with no RSVP required.
Presented by Project STEP (String Training Education Program), the recital showcases talented young musicians performing on violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Project STEP provides long-term, high-quality music training, support services, and scholarships for students from backgrounds underrepresented in classical music, helping them build musicianship, confidence, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the stage.
This event is sponsored in part by The Gregory E. Bulger Foundation and supported by the Mass Cultural Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional support from the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation, the D’Addario Foundation, and The Mary Saudek Jaffee Fund. The recital will be held at Boston College High School but is not a Boston College High School sponsored event.

Stronger Together - The Somerville Foundation's Annual Impact Celebration Event

Join [Working Title] for an evening of queer, literary speed dating at All She Wrote Books in collaboration with Sex Week Boston!
Join [Working Title] for an evening of queer, literary speed dating at All She Wrote Books. Facilitated by writers Zofia Provizer of T4T Readings and L Scully of Stone of Madness Press, this adults-only, ticketed evening event is for queer people of all relationship orientations and literary fandoms. The structure of the event will include introductions, timed speed dates, allotted group writing time to decompress and integrate prompts, and social time to mingle and buy books at the end.
Start to finish, the event will be about two and a half hours. Suggested ticket price is $10-$15, but no participants will be turned away for lack of funds and interested participants can contact [leighahscully@gmail.com] for a ticket waiver.
To respect the cozy, between-the-shelves vibe, there will not be food available during the event, but the bookstore is located centrally in Somerville with many snack and drink options nearby. The bookshop is small but wheelchair accessible, masks are optional, and there is a gender-neutral bathroom on site. All She Wrote Books is accessible by bus and T (green and orange line) with limited Somerville street parking.

The Improbable Beasts bass clarinet ensemble, with special guests Meryl Summers(bassoon) and Solon Gordon (piano) present “We Rise,” a program of music about coming together in the midst of adversity, and rising up in community.
Beasts director Jonathan Russell will be joined by pianist Solon Gordon and bassoonist Meryl Summers in his compositional response to the dislocations and disruptions of our current moment called “We Reflect, We Grieve, We Rise.” 
After this, the Beasts present two more of Russell’s original compositions and close with a rousing rendition of the African American Spiritual and protest song “Down by the Riverside.” 
Come join the Beasts for a memorable afternoon of moving and rousing music.

Tracy Bonham&nbsp;is a twice GRAMMY™ nominated singer-songwriter&nbsp;who was&nbsp;trained as a classical violinist and pianist from age 7. Bonham gave up her full scholarship for violin performance at USC, and the classical handcuffs that bound her, to&nbsp;attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. After singing jingles and performing as a wedding singer in the greater Boston area, Bonham rose&nbsp;to fame in 1996&nbsp;with her unique style of quirky songwriting and unrefined guitar playing.&nbsp;
Her debut album, The Burdens of Being Upright (Island Records),&nbsp;recorded with Paul Q Kolderie and Sean Slade at Fort Apache Studios in Cambridge&nbsp;achieved Gold status in the US, Australia, and Canada and cast Bonham into the global spotlight with buzz-clip status on MTV and heavy rotation radio airplay with her #1 alternative chart-topping song “Mother Mother”— an anthem for disgruntled teenagers of all ages.
Tracy has released 8 albums all to critical acclaim with her most recent release, Sky Too Wide (A Woody Hollow), in 2025. Indie Review writes&nbsp;"This album may seem like a reinvention of self for Bonham, the former angst ridden, abrasive, alternative rock queen. But it’s not.
