About The Alliance: Our collective of dedicated musicians is in constant pursuit of capturing the human condition in music form. The brainchild of award-winning composer and trumpeter Jack Benson, this orchestral group draws from the idioms of Jazz, R&amp;B, Classical, and a dash of everything else to create new music that speaks to our place in the world, the emotional truth, and the systemic change we want to see.
Functioning as a 17-piece big band, we explore the endless possibilities of textures and colors to create meaningful art. Catch us in Boston, MA in the summertime and in Los Angeles, CA in the Autumn, Winter, and Spring.
About Noah Allen and the Peace: Noah Allen is a trumpet player, composer, songwriter, and producer from Uxbridge, Massachusetts. Over the past six years, Allen has been an active presence in the Providence and Boston music scenes.&nbsp;
In the Summer of 2023, Allen joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Sean Jones, touring Europe and performing at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall. In 2024, Allen brought his group, Noah Allen &amp; the Peace, to the Newport Jazz Festival. Over the years he has played with musicians such as Jesus Molina, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Myron Walden, Greg Spero, Warren Wolf, Moto Fukushima, Tia Fuller, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Sean Jones, and others.

Somerville, Mass, — Several community groups will jointly host a multi-community forum for the 2nd Middlesex State Senate candidates on July 16, 2026 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Somerville High School, 81 Highland Ave.&nbsp;Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The forum features all five candidates: Burhan Azeem of Cambridge, Christine Barber of&nbsp;Somerville,&nbsp;Tom Hopcroft of Winchester, Matt McLaughlin of Somerville, and Erika Uyterhoeven of Somerville. Each candidate will deliver A short opening presentation and closing remarks. Moderators will ask questions submitted pre-forum by community groups, residents, and businesses.
Community members from all four municipalities are encouraged to attend. Their sound fuses deep-pocket soul, blues, and rock ’n’ roll, channeling icons such as Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks and others.
Rooted in tradition and sharpened by the road, Hippies And Cowboys cut their early recordings in legendary rooms including FAME Studios, Muscle Shoals Sound, and East Avalon—capturing the same spirit that shaped generations of American music. Their debut release, Live at Fox and Locke (2023), bottled the raw, no-holds-barred energy of their live show and quickly earned critical acclaim. About the Book
Jamie is bad at endings, which is why she's stuck at a dead-end Baltimore newspaper job, continuing to have break-up sex with her first-ever hetero partner, and still being haunted by the what-ifs of her ex-girlfriend Mari—a charismatic and brilliant musician—and their former band together, The Maidenheads. About the Author
Benny B. Peterson (they/them) is a writer and editor based near Washington, DC. A contributing editor at Washingtonian magazine, they have also worked at Foreign Policy, the New Republic, and Street Sense, DC's street newspaper. They have written about culture, politics, gender, and LGBTQ+ issues for The New York Times, Washington Post, Elle, Slate, and The Atlantic, among other places, and received an MFA in fiction from Bennington.

Milo Todd (he/him)&nbsp;is a Massachusetts Cultural Council grantee and a Lambda Literary Fellow. His work has appeared in Slice Magazine&nbsp;and elsewhere. Adapted from the novel that inspired the 1941 John Huston noir film, The Maltese Falcon features San Francisco private eye Sam Spade in his debut appearance. When trouble arrives at Spade's doorstep in the form of the desperately tragic Miss Wonderly, it drags him into a web of intrigue, deceit, betrayal, and murder as several eccentric criminals seek to obtain the titular falcon.
PMRP veterans Tori Queeno and Jonathan Mendoza return to direct their original audio adaptation of Dashiell Hammett's 1930 hardboiled detective novel. Starring Pieter Wallace as Sam Spade and Emma Rottersman as Wonderly, and featuring Foley coordination by Jaimie Carlson.
Opening weekend will offer two evening performances; 8PM on July 17th and July 18th at the Guild Church in Davis Square.
The second weekend will be at a new venue for PMRP - the Plaza Theatres at Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) - and will offer three evening performances and two matinees: 7:30PM on July 23rd, July 24th, and July 25th and 2PM on July 25 and July 26th. Tickets are $20 for General Admission, or $15 for Students/Seniors. Please note: the BCA charges a fee for tickets purchased online or over the phone, buy tickets directly from the in person box office to avoid the added fee.
