Layne Staley Tribute East returns to Crystal Ballroom in Somerville on Saturday, November 7, for its second annual benefit concert honoring the lives and music of Layne Staley and Mike Starr.
Featuring Davey Allen, Billy Paul Fisher, Vedder Gabriel, and a cast of guest musicians, LSTE brings fans together to celebrate the music of Alice in Chains and remember two people whose music still means so much to us. Inspired by the long-running Seattle Layne Staley Tribute, this East Coast gathering gives fans a chance to share that connection in person and support people and families affected by addiction.
Proceeds will benefit the Layne Staley Memorial Fund through Therapeutic Health Services in Seattle and CASPAR Men’s Recovery Home in Somerville, supporting addiction treatment and recovery.

Join All She Wrote Books and author Betty Cayouette on Saturday, November 7th at 6:30pm for a book charm making workshop! Attendees will each learn how to craft a homemade book charm that is perfect to display on a purse or tote bag. The charm completed during the workshop will be a miniature of Cayouette’s third novel, I Kissed Her First.

All charm materials will be provided for attendees, and the workshop will run approximately 90 minutes.

"Inclusivity" isn't just a buzzword to us. We make every effort to ensure our space and events are accessible to and for everyone. If you or someone in your party needs accommodations, please email us at info@allshewrotebooks.com.

About I Kissed Her First
An aspiring chef and world-famous popstar cook up what starts to sound like a love song in this sapphic new adult debut from Betty Cayouette.

This is Riley’s last summer as a chef. At least, this is what she’s promised her dads, who run a Cape Cod lobster shack and don’t want their daughter to follow in their stress-ridden footsteps. So Riley decides to go big and audition as a private chef for a singer’s European tour. When she finds out she got the gig, she’s thrilled. But when she learns that the singer she’ll be cooking for is Luna Leya, she and her sister’s favorite popstar? She almost can’t believe it.

Soon enough, Riley and Luna strike up an unexpected friendship, much to Luna’s manager’s disapproval. Luna should be focused on getting her Grammy, which means pulling off this tour without a hitch and continuing to date the notorious singer/heart throb/beloved bad boy Hudson, who’s rocketed her to a new level of fame with their hit single. Luna should definitely not be sneaking off to the Eiffel Tower and private Andalucian dinners to spend time with Riley. As the two get closer, Riley thinks she might be losing her mind. Is it possible the Luna Leya is flirting with her? And is there a world where Riley could keep her dream of being a chef alive? Soon, things will reach a tipping point and both Riley and Luna will be left wondering: could their story be a love song after all?

About the Book
Amy Chambers: restaurant owner, micromanager, control freak.

Amy will do anything to revive her ailing restaurant, including hiring a former reality-show finalist with good connections and a lot to prove. But her hopes that Sophie’s skills and celebrity status would bring her restaurant back from the brink of failure are beginning to wane…

Sophie Brunet: grump in the kitchen/sunshine in the streets, took thirty years to figure out she was queer.

Sophie just wants to cook. She doesn’t want to constantly post on social media for her dead-in-the-water reality TV career, she doesn’t want to deal with Amy’s take-charge personality and she doesn’t want to think about what her attraction to her boss might mean…

Then, an opportunity: a new foodie TV show might provide the exposure they need. An uneasy truce is fine for starters, but making their dreams come true means making some personal and painful sacrifices and soon, there’s more than just the restaurant at stake.
