SOMERVILLE, MA — Wynn Resorts is willing to pay $25 million for an 800-foot footbridge connecting Encore Boston Harbor and the Assembly Row MBTA stop, Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria told the Boston Globe. But there's a catch – getting folks over the Orange Line tracks.

The stop opens inward to Assembly Row instead of the park that borders the river, and Wynn is more apt to fund the footbridge if it connects the casino directly to the station, according to the Globe. A solution is already in the works – officials in Everett and Somerville are looking at building a T head house, which would allow people to cross over the tracks to the train platform.

Earlier this year, both cities were awarded a cumulative $825,000 in grant money to fund the head house design. DeMaria is hoping to get the MBTA on board to borrow the $10-$15 million for the project but is also willing to have the city front the money, the Globe reported.
