Celebrate Hip Hop In Somerville's Union Square
The third annual Evolution of Hip Hop Festival hits Somerville this Sunday.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The third annual Evolution of Hip Hop Festival lands in Somerville this weekend. The event will be hosted by Crystal Chandler and Shardai Sam-Clarke and feature rappers, singers, spoken word poets, dancers, beatboxers and visual artists from the community and its surrounding cities.
Live art and interactive activities, as well as information tables from local community groups, will be available during the performances. The festival is an ArtsUnion production, sponsored by the City of Somerville, Somerville Arts Council, Wat's da WURD, Xperience Creative and the Boston Smoke Shop.
The Evolution of Hip Hop Festival will take place Sunday, Oct. 1 from 2:30-6:30 p.m. in Union Square Plaza and feature the following performances:

- Musical performances by Oompa, Marcela Cruz, Notoriety, Devin Ferreira, DJ Slipwax, Genie Santiago, BusyBars, Anturazh, Dzidor Azaglo, Lil' Static & JDel, CeloDAMF, Von Don, Vid the Visionary
- Dance performances by QWAM, VibeStyle & Friends, and CrewNex.
- Live art by Acoma Art, B. Cartier, V.Kash, Marisa Kang, Jessie Nocella, Joey Free, Nic Nak, Basement Trybe, and Baboon
