Cold Weather Pushes Somerville Ice Cream Shop To Breaking Point

The shop's profane tweet probably reflects how a lot of New Englanders have been feeling.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Gracie's Ice Cream has had it with cold weather in April. The Union Square ice cream shop's exasperation came to a head Thursday in a profane, brutally honest Twitter post.

After using some colorful language, the business urged customers to partake in a frozen treat and block out last week's icky weather.

"HERE IS A PRETTY PICTURE OF ICE CREAM," Gracie's tweeted. "COME BUY SOME SO WE CAN ALL PRETEND IT’S A NORMAL SPRING AND NOT SOME SOULCRUSHING TRUDGE TOWARD DISCONTENT AND UNENTHUSIASTIC SURFACE CONVERSATIONS WITH PEOPLE YOU HARDLY KNOW."

The shop (and folks nodding along in unison with its frustration) may finally get its wish: the forecast calls for sunshine and highs in the 60s at the start of this week.
