Concert at The Burren Will Benefit Somerville's Homeless

Donations from this month's Mardi Gras concert will support the Somerville Homeless Coalition.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The Burren will host its Mardi Gras party Feb. 26, but this year it's not just about beads and booze. While folk/roots rock band Sweet Wednesday performs a set of original songs, donations will be collected for the Somerville Homeless Coalition.

The show will feature the core band, as well as guests Yani Batteau (banjo, singer/songwriter), Jackie Damsky(violin), Janet Connerney (singer/songwriter), REV BUSKER (guitar, singer/songwriter), Martin White (bass), Matthew Gold (drums), Rachel Raven (singer/songwriter), and Laurence Scudder (viola, singer/songwriter, of Spotted Tiger).

The set includes vocals, harmonies, guitars, a mandolin, bass, drums, harmonica, banjo, violin and viola and will feature traditional New Orleans songs and some of the band's favorite blues tunes.
