Creative Writing & Storytelling Workshop at SCATV

Everyone has stories to share. Come share yours!

Have you been wanting to get to know other people, but needing an environment where you can really talk with them? Get to know other Bostonians during the 6-week workshop Capturing and Sharing Your Life Stories. You’ll share stories of your life through interactive exercises and group discussions on life themes such as family, education, friendships, goals and aspirations. In-between meetings, you’ll write a two-page autobiographical story based on that theme which will be shared in class the following week. It’s a great way to get to know other people in the greater Boston area and also generate a collection of stories to share with your family, friends, and generations to come.

At the end of the 6-week workshop, you have the opportunity to work with Somerville Community Access Television (SCATV) to take the stories you have written and create multi-media stories. You can choose to create an audio narration with pictures or a video recording of your story. Other options can be explored as well.

Cost: The 6-week workshop and multi-media story workshop is $80 for members of SCATV and $120 for non-members of SCATV.
