Davis Square Hand Crafted Donuts & Bagels Grand Opening Thursday

The years-long wait is over. It opens in Somerville this week.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Yes, you read that right. After years of will-it, won't-it, Davis Square Hand Crafted Donuts & Bagels is going to open – very soon. The shop will hold a grand opening celebration this Thursday, Aug. 3 at 5:30 a.m., according to an announcement on its website.

The opening of Davis Square Donuts & Bagels has been a long time coming. Plans to bring the shop to Summer Street first sprouted up in August of 2015, and it was slated to open the following summer. But the project was shelved last year, which many believed to be the nail in the coffin for the bakery.

New life was breathed into the project earlier this year. Months after Opa Greek Yeeros owner Kyriakos Kouzoukas backed out of the development, George Dardonis reached an agreement with the landlord to move forward with the shop, according to Eater. And if you're particular about your bagel type, chances are the shop's got you covered. Eater reports Davis Square Donuts & Bagels will offer 15 different types of bagels and make sandwiches to order.

The shop will also have indoor and outdoor seating and free wifi. The address for Davis Square Hand Crafted Donuts & Bagels is 377 Summer Street.
