Decades-Old Davis Square Bar Getting Replaced

But a new watering hole and restaurant is set to move in.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A Davis square bar and restaurant will close after 20 years, and a new watering hole is set to take its place. Licensing commission meeting documents and a post on the Davis Square Facebook page cited by Boston Restaurant Talk point to The Joshua Tree being replaced by the Elm Street Tap Room.

According to the licensing commission, Elm Street Tap Room is requesting an alcohol transfer license from The Joshua Tree.

The Elm Street bar first opened in 1997, and another location opened in Allston 10 years later. The Allston bar has since closed.
