DSLR Video and Animation Workshops at SCATV

DSLR VIDEO PRODUCTION: website link

This two-session class is for field certified members and non-members with video production experience. The class will cover the use of SCATV’s Canon EOS 70D DSLR cameras with Tascam audio recorders. Learn how to choose video settings, determine depth of field, adjust lighting, and use the “follow focus” add-on. Rivas has twenty years of video production and broadcast TV experience. He has worked at Higher Dreams Productions in Boston, WFXT Fox 25, WUNI Univision, Radio Television Dominicana, and Access Framingham.

STOP MOTION ANIMATION: website link

Learn stop-motion animation with animation guru, Jessica Barnthouse. Students of all ages will work in groups to plan, produce, and edit original stop-motion animations using professional animation software and SCATV’s new DSLR cameras. Bring ideas and things to animate (Legos, clay, paper, buttons, etc) to our first class and we’ll have several one-minute animations completed at the end of four weeks. Kids and teens welcome! Jessica has been teaching stop-motion animation to all ages for four years now and runs an annual animation film festival in Arlington.

When: Four Tuesday sessions: May 5, 12, 19, 26; 7:00 – 9:00pm

Cost: Members: $60; non-members: $90
