Authentic culture and flavor is only a street block or t stop away. East Somerville Cultural Block Parties will launch in April and will take place on the THIRD THURSDAY of every month all the way through September. East Somerville sets itself apart with its vibrant and welcoming spirit – seen everywhere in color, sound, and flavor; a mix of English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and Creole weave through its streets and stores. For the first time this flavor is being captured in a season long event series.
The second Block Party, “¡Quince de Mayo!” will take place Thursday, May 15th from 6-8:30 P.M. at the Culture Corridor @ Chuckie Harris Park 3-17 Cross St. East at Broadway The event will feature live performances by Radio Mambo, OnStage Dance Co. & Metadance, along with Pinata Making by Shaddai Boutique, Seed Planting with Leanne Darrigo, and Umbrella Decorating with Marina Seevak of The Beautiful Stuff Project. Bring a picnic, the whole family and come on down for an evening of fun, learning, and celebration! For more info visit www.eastsomervillemainstreets.org or call 617-623-3869
