2nd Annual Great Urban Campout!

WHAT: Join us by the campfire for songs, s'mores, and stories. Families and anyone else who likes to camp are welcome to come spend the night in Lincoln Park or just join in for afternoon/evening activities.

WHERE: The soccer field at Lincoln Park.

WHEN: Saturday, July 23rd to Sunday, July 24th. Set up tents anytime from 12:00 noon on and stay until the next morning. Or, just join in for afternoon and evening activities.

WHAT TO BRING: Camping stuff (tents, air mattress, chairs), instruments, and stories to share.

FOOD: We have grills and portable fire pits, so feel free to bring food to grill, marshmallows to roast, and a potluck dish to share with other campers. There will be a pancake breakfast with lots of coffee the next morning for anyone who makes it through the night.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES: Games and activities for pre-school and school-aged kids, adult/kid challenges, and get-to-know each other challenges.

EVENING ACTIVITIES: Songs and stories by the fire.

BATHROOMS: There will be two port-a-potties on site and, up until 11:00 p.m., participants can use the facilities at a neighbors' house that abuts the park.

SECURITY: There should be plenty of adults on hand and in ear-shot to keep an eye on things, however, the Police Department will send a cruiser by regularly throughout the night and will have an officer on site from midnight until 4:00 a.m.

RAIN DATE: If rain is forecast for Saturday the 23rd, the campout will be held on Friday the 22nd. If rain is forecast for both Friday and Saturday, the campout will be cancelled.

REGULARS: Please note alcohol and animals are not allowed in this park. Also, the portable fire pit must be used only if food preparation is occurring. Quiet hours will be from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
