Description:
Students will learn the basics of leather working through the process of constructing a wallet from start to finish. We will be using wallet kits to facilitate the construction process and allow students to perfect carving techniques. Students will each design and trace an image to carve into the wallet's face. We will go over carving, sewing, and painting and discuss the theory behind leather construction. The class will also discuss tool safety and use.

*Basic Leathercraft Kit - $29.99 or
*Deluxe Leathercraft Kit - $59.99
*leather thread for sewing if desired
*additional paints if desired
Kits will be available for purchase through the instructor.
Instructor Biography:
Emily Lamkin has been an artist and designer in many different capacities throughout her life. A professional leather worker, she runs her own leather working shop, Curious Alchemy. She has a broad range of artistic schooling and background which she brings to all her projects and specializes in masquerade masks and other leather accessories. She studied leather working at Tandy Leather and is well versed in the plethora of tools and techniques required in leather craft; knowledge which she is excited to be able to share with others!
