Somerville Youth Softball - Girls Try-outs

The Somerville Youth Softball Organization are excited to be partnering with the Somerville Department of Recreation and Youth to launch a new girls softball program for all girls from 1st - 9th grades in Somerville.

This spring we will be offering:

Instructional Division:  Grades 1, 2, 3

Girls will all meet together twice a week, once for fun and interactive skills and drills, and a second day for 30 minutes of instruction followed by 1 hour games.  Girls will be divided into teams and stations to keep active while learning to enjoy the great game of softball.

Minor League:  Grades 4, 5, 6

Girls will practice twice a week, learning and improving through active stations until games begin.  Girls will then play twice a week with optional practices.

Major League:  Grades 7, 8, 9

Girls in the Major Division will play approximately half of their games against the other Somerville teams, and the other half against teams in the same age division from Medford.  The focus will be on adding skills and helping girls develop into their best softball potential through practicing and games.

• Practices for the Minors and Majors will begin after Easter, April 8.  And games will begin the week of April 29^th.

• Instructional Division practices and games are being scheduled not to conflict to Somerville Youth Soccer.
