Third Annual Great Somerville Urban Campout

What:  Join us by the campfire for songs, s'mores, and stories!  Families and anyone else who likes to camp are welcome to come spend the night in Lincoln Park.

Where: The soccer field at Lincoln Park

When: Saturday, July 28th to Sunday, July 29th. Set up tents anytime from 12:00 p.m. on and stay until the next morning.  Or, just join in for afternoon & evening activities.

More Information:

What to bring: Camping stuff (tents, air mattress, chairs), instruments, stories to share.

Food: There will be grills and portable fire pits, so feel free to bring food to grill, marshmallows to roast, and a potluck dish to share with other campers.  There will be a pancake breakfast with lots of coffee the next morning for anyone who makes it through the night.

Activities: We are arranging for songs and stories by the fire and some games in the grass.

Bathrooms: There will be two port-a-potties on site and, up until 11:00 p.m., participants can use the facilities at a neighbor’s house that abuts the park.

Security: There should be plenty of adults on hand and in ear-shot to keep an eye on things, however, the Police Department will send a cruiser by regularly throughout the night and will have an officer on site from midnight until 4:00 a.m.

Rain Date:  If rain is forecast for Saturday the 28th, the campout will be held on Friday the 27th.  If rain is forecast for both Friday and Saturday, the campout will be cancelled.
