Description:
If you already know what you want to build and you just want to learn how to use the tools you need safely (or if you just want a refresher), Tool Training sessions are for you. Classes are kept small so each student gets a lot of personal attention, and each training session is themed for a certain set of tools - just take the sessions you need to get going.
This training session is called Basic Machine Tools. It's intended to be the first Tool Training session someone takes if they're completely new to Artisan's Asylum and have never really been formally trained. It covers safety procedures, our basic shop layout, and the correct use of the drill press, bench sander, bench grinder, and hand power tools such as power drills, circular saws, reciprocating saws and jigsaws.

Please note that Tool Training classes do not provide significant practice with each tool, nor do they discuss any advanced techniques. To learn how to use the tools at anything other than an introductory level, please take a look at our technique classes.
