Theatre Opening, “The Lady’s Not for Burning”:
Somerville community theater troupe Theatre@First opens its run of the darkly comic “The Lady’s Not for Burning” tonight at Unity Church. The play, about a romance between a soldier and an accused witch, took England by storm a half-century ago and remains one of Britain’s most popular modern theater works. The group sets the play in Appalachia and backs it up with a roots music soundtrack featuring tunes by local folk legend Mark Erelli, as well as Scot Castle and Jiro Kokubu. Details . Residents are invited to make nominations for the 2011 Somerville’s Woman of Excellence and Best Service Provider to Women awards. The deadline to submit is Friday Feb. 18. Past award winners include Family and Children’s Advocate Bonny Carroll, the Somerville Council on Aging, Debbie Higgins of the Parent Information Center, the Brazilian Women’s Group, and Stella Downey of Teen Empowerment. Winners will be honored at the Women’s History Month reception in March. Details .

Kids of all ages are invited to a free Valentine card making party today at the West Branch Library. Supplies and snacks will be provided—kind of makes you want to send the library a valentine for hosting so many great free programs, doesn’t it? Details .
Traffic Advisory, I-93 exits closed tonight:
The following I-93 exits will be closed from 11 p.m. Thursday (tonight) to 5 a.m. Friday morning:
- Exit 20B ramp to I-93 southbound
- Purchase/Congress ramp to I-93 southbound
- Albany St. ramp to I-93 southbound

Give your sweetie a membership to the Somerville Museum and help this worthy institution all at once. The Somerville Museum could loose $30,000 in matching funds that they need for roof repairs if they do not receive enough matching donations from the community by Feb. 14. To sweeten the deal, if you donate $50 by Valentines Day, you’ll get the following in thanks:
- A free one-year membership to the Somerville Museum, which is good for a 10% discount at the Museum store
- A free one year membership in Historic Somerville
- A souvenir pin that you can wear with pride
- A piece of the old roof slate
