Flash Food Warning For Parts Of Middlesex, Norfolk Counties
These areas may experience flooding in the coming hours, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Boston and parts of Middlesex and Norfolk counties. The NWS said radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain in the area around 6:30 p.m., and flooding may follow.
The warning remains in effect until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

Boston, Cambridge, Newton, Somerville, Waltham, Brookline, Medford, Arlington, Everett, Woburn, Natick, Watertown, Lexington, Needham, Wellesley, Belmont, Dedham, Burlington, Winchester, Concord
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding will occur quickly; drivers are advised to seek alternate routes if roads or underpasses begin to flood and those near small streams should get to higher ground immediately.

The NWS says to expect what could be up to 3-4 inches of rainfall per hour, though 1-2 inches seems more likely. "Showers and thunderstorms will develop late this morning into the afternoon before dissipating shortly after sunset."
