Anyone hoping to feel better about what’s already a crummy weather day could attend a screening of “Food Chains” this evening at the ASEAN Auditorium. The 2014 documentary - produced by Eric Schlosser of “Fast Food Nation” fame and narrated by Forest Whitaker - seeks to inform the masses about deeply miserable conditions endured by U.S. farm workers. While commuting to work in the snow can be an absolute nightmare, in most respects, it beats getting paid pennies to pick tomatoes for 12 hours a day.

The event is hosted by student groups The Friedman Justice League and The Fletcher Food Policy Club and will be followed by a panel discussion. Although free, a $5 donation is suggested at the door. More info is available here.
