GLX Broadway Bridge Closure Rescheduled

SOMERVILLE, MA – The closure of the Broadway bridge near the Somerville-South Medford border has been rescheduled again, according to the Medford Transcript. A member of the Green Line Extension Working Group told the Transcript the closure has been pushed to "mid-February to mid-March."

The closure was originally expected to begin this fall before being rescheduled to January. The Ball Square bridge will close for one year during the Green Line Extension project.

Local and state officials are working with the MBTA to mitigate the traffic impact of the closure. Detours will be put in place for pedestrians, drivers and bicyclists in the Ball Square and South Medford areas.
