ICYMI: Tufts Students Save Man Who Fell on Tracks at Davis Square Station

A CBS Boston report profiled the daring rescue over St. Patrick's Day weekend.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The quick thinking of eight freshmen at Tufts University saved the life of a Medford man who fell onto the tracks at the Davis Square MBTA station on Friday, according to a CBS Boston report.

The man, 47, later admitted to being under the influence at the time and had wandered off of the platform onto the tracks. One of the students jumped in after him, telling CBS a train had just left the station, so he knew he "had a few minutes."

With the help of his friends, he lifted the man to safety. He was taken to the hospital by Transit Police after badly hurting his ankle during the fall, according to CBS.
