Just Four Days Left to Help Somerville Museum Raise Final $25k
Nearly 300 people and businesses have already contributed and if another 500 donate $50 each by Monday night, the state will double every donation with a matching grant.
The Somerville Museum has just $25,000 left to raise by Monday night Feb. 14 to qualify for a matching donation of the same amount from the state. The funds will be used to help pay for needed renovations to the building.
As of Thursday, 218 individuals, families, businesses and organizations had answered the call to donate to the Somerville Museum Building Fund.
The latest Facebook update on the funding drive states, “The average size of the donation is $94, and the median is $50. We have individual donations ranging from $5 to $2000! We have raised a little over $30,000 and have $25,000 to go by Monday. Will we do it???? THANK YOU, SOMERVILLE (and all of you who love this town).”
