SOMERVILLE, MA — Kmart will close its store at Assembly Row in November, according to a spokesperson for the shopping complex. It is one of four Massachusetts locations the retailer plans to close in the coming months, the Boston Globe reported.

In addition to its Somerville location, Kmart is shutting down stores in Palmer, Brockton and Webster. Tom Galligani, director of economic development in Somerville, told the Globe Kmart was one of the original tenants at the Assembly Square Mall when it opened in 1980.

The store has between 50 and 100 employees.
