Long-Awaited Juice Bar Opens Saturday in Somerville

SOMERVILLE, MA – Sure, you're probably more in the mood for a piping hot chocolate or scalding cup of coffee this time of year, but you'll be craving a smoothie come Memorial Day.

Enter NU Café, Union Square's newest eatery. The Worcester-based juice bar announced on Facebook that it will hold its grand opening this Saturday, Dec. 3.

According to Eater Boston, which has been closely following the NU Café saga since a Somerville location was announced last October, the spot will seat 60 people and feature 12 counter seats along the window. In addition to smoothies, juices and standard bakery fare, the café also offers a selection of local craft beers and wine.

NU Café will hold a grand opening party on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Its regular hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The café is located at 195 Washington St. in Union Square.
