Longtime Somerville Pizza Shop Changing Menu, Name

SOMERVILLE, MA – Big changes are coming to a popular Somerville pizza and sub shop. Eat At Jumbo's in Ball Square is undergoing renovations and will soon switch to a new name and menu. In a couple weeks, meat will be removed altogether and it will be rebranded as Sassafras Somerville, serving vegetarian and vegan dishes, according to Eater Boston.

A Facebook group for Sassafras Somerville says it is "born out of the ashes at Eat at Jumbo's" and is completely meat-free. The restaurant previously offered vegetarian and vegan options and will add new dishes to the menu.

Eat At Jumbo's Owner Grover Taylor will remain involved with the restaurant as its creative director and Christopher Silvia has been hired as manager, Eater reported.
