MBTA Announces Holiday Service Schedules
Schedules will be altered on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well as New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has announced its schedule for the upcoming holiday season.
The schedule changes will come into effect on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Late night service will not be available on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day, and fares will not be collected after 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. All Subway lines will be running on a regular weekday schedule on Christmas Eve, and will run on a regular Sunday schedule on Christmas Day. All commuter lines will run on the same schedule, with the exception of the Needham line which will not run on Christmas Day.
Subway lines will run on a modified schedule on New Year’s Eve, with the exception of the Silver line which will run on a regular weekday schedule. All subway lines will run on a Sunday schedule on New Year’s Day. All commuter lines will run a modified schedule, except for the Farimount Line which will run on a regular schedule on New Year’s Eve. All commuter lines will run on a Sunday schedule, which means the Needham line will not run.
