MBTA Bus 83 Rerouted During Beacon Street Construction

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville bus riders, take note.

Starting today, MBTA Bus 83 will be rerouted due to construction on Beacon Street. The portion of Beacon Street between Park and Washington streets will be excavated for approximately six weeks.

During that time, traffic will be detoured onto Washington and Dane. Here's a look at the new bus routes, via the City of Somerville:

• INBOUND (from Porter Sq.): Continue on Somerville Ave. to Union Sq., right on Washington St., left on Beacon St. to normal route.
• OUTBOUND (from Hampshire St.): Left on Cambridge St., right on Quincy St., right on Kirkland St. to Washington St., left on Dane St., left on Somerville Ave. to normal route.
• Temporary Bus Stop Locations: Use existing route #86 Inbound/Outbound stops at intersection(s) of Beacon St. and Washington St.
