Meth Lab Found On Oxford Street: Somerville Police

Police said the scene was secured while the structure was decontaminated, so neighbors were not at risk.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Somerville Police say they discovered what they believe to be a methamphetamine lab on Oxford Street on Oct. 23.

Police and the Somerville Fire Department were called to Oxford Street at 9 a.m. that day for a medical incident. Two residents were taken to an area hospital "for ingesting an unknown substance," police said.

Officers saw what they believed to be a meth lab while at the scene. The Cambridge Fire Department Hazardous Material Unit, Cambridge Fire Department’s Bomb Investigation Unit and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Special Response Team all responded after Somerville Police prepared and carried out a search warrant.
