Mount Auburn Hospital and CareWell Urgent Care Announce Affiliation
The affiliation will provide patients in Cambridge and surrounding areas an integrated healthcare solution.
Mount Auburn Hospital today announced a new affiliation with CareWell Urgent Care to help provide broader access to high quality, affordable healthcare. The affiliation will provide patients in Cambridge and surrounding areas an integrated healthcare solution with both organizations referring patients based on their needs
“We believe that this affiliation with CareWell will be a tremendous benefit to our patients,” says Jeanette Clough CEO/President of Mount Auburn Hospital. “By offering patients a wide range of geographic options for their urgent care we can better serve them and still provide the care and expertise of Mount Auburn physicians.”
CareWell patients will now have easy access to Mount Auburn Hospital specialists when necessary. Mount Auburn Hospital patients will have access to convenient, high quality urgent care services, reducing wait times and costs for non-urgent patients. With the patient’s permission, CareWell will forward x-rays, lab results and diagnostic notes to Mount Auburn Hospital doctors within hours of a visit.

“We are thrilled to launch this new affiliation with Mount Auburn Hospital,” said Shaun Ginter, CEO of CareWell Urgent Care. “Patients are treated at an urgent care center with great quality of care and speed. This means our patients will get the care they need in the most efficient way possible.”
CareWell centers treat patients for non-life-threatening—but still urgent—illnesses or injuries, including colds, infections, fractures, cuts, rashes, allergic reactions and the flu. Centers offer select preventative care services, including flu shots, vaccinations and sports physical exams, and have on-site X-ray and lab capabilities. The Mount Auburn Hospital-affiliated CareWell Urgent Care centers are located at 601 Concord Ave and 1400 Cambridge Street in Cambridge and at 349 Broadway in Somerville.

CareWell Urgent Care centers accept most insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid and the copay and visit fees are comparable to an office visit with your primary care doctor. If you do not have insurance, CareWell also offers affordable self-pay rates. CareWell centers are open seven days a week and offer convenient hours for working professionals and after hour visits.
