Multiple Assaults: Somerville Crime Log

SOMERVILLE, MA — The following reports were received by Somerville Police between Thursday, July 30 and Monday, Aug. 3.

Thursday, July 30

6:29 p.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting at a business on Assembly Row. A loss prevention officer said he observed a man shoplifting and that the man brandished a knife at him when he tried to confront him about it.

Monday, Aug. 3

10:38 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a firearm at a business on Assembly Row. An employee said they were assisting a man during checkout when the person dropped their change on the counter and almost hit the employee. According to the worker, the suspect turned around and lifted his jacket showing what was believed to be a firearm.

8:21 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an assault at a business on Alewife Brook Parkway. Officers spoke with a customer who said a man began yelling at him and elbowed him while he was trying to check out.
