New Medical Marijuana Shop Opens In Somerville

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville newest medical marijuana dispensary, Liberty Cannabis, is now open for business in Union Square.

"We're so excited to be open in Somerville and joining such a progressive, diverse and welcoming community," Josh Genderson, founder, president and CEO of Liberty Cannabis said in a statement. "Our core values of family, wellness and community are a perfect fit for the city with its rich history and rapid commercial and residential expansion."

Liberty says it is "liberating the cannabis experience" with wellness guides, personal consultations and products that come in a variety of forms, including tinctures, live resins and waxes.

It is the company's first dispensary in Massachusetts. Liberty's parent company, Holistic Industries, was the first cultivation center to open in Washington, D.C. and the first to bring CBD to market, according to a Liberty Cannabis press release.

Its 80,000-square-foot cultivation, lab and kitchen is located in Monson.

Liberty Cannabis is located at 304 Somerville Ave. in Union Square. Its hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
