Northeastern University PhD Student Ranked in the Top 20 New Stars in Data-Mining

Hongfu Liu, a third-year PhD student, was ranked among the Top 20 New Stars in Data Mining

Hongfu Liu, a third-year PhD student at Northeastern University’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was named one of the Top 20 Stars in Data Mining according to Microsoft searching.

A Shenyang, China native, Liu received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the School of Economics and Management at Beihang University in Beijing, China.

Currently, Liu is working under Professor Yun Raymond Fu. Liu has published multiple papers on the topic of data mining and machine learning. His current research interests regarding data mining are centered on ensemble learning and social media.
