Obituary: Giannino Perrone, of Somerville

"John" Perrone, 86, died Feb. 24.

Giannino “John” Perrone, 86 of Somerville, died Tuesday after a brief illness in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

Born in Italy, he lived in Somerville since 1955 and was the son of the late Fermina (Capobianco) and Erasmo Perrone. Giannino was a laborer in the construction industry with Local 151 for 10 years and retired in 1988. At the age of 18 he joined the Italian Navy and in 1953 he came to the United States.

Beloved husband of Adua (Tagliavento) Perrone. Devoted father of Thomas Perrone and his wife Sharon of Tewksbury, Raymond Perrone of Tewksbury, Phyllis Perrone of Waltham, John Perrone and his wife Filomena of Somerville. Loving grandfather of Steven, Ava, Olivia, Gregory, Marina and Jared. Brother of Vincent Perrone of Wareham, Frank Perrone of Belmont, Maria Delio of Italy and the late Antonio Perrone.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
