Obituary: Mary Ingemi, 94, of Somerville

Mary was an active woman who enjoyed spending time with her family, volunteering at the Somerville Senior Center and watching the Red Sox.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Mrs. Mary E. (Smith) Ingemi died at her home in Somerville surrounded by her family on Friday, May 12th, she was 94. Born in Tracadie, Prince Edward Island, Canada she was the youngest of five children born to John and Josephine (Kelly) Smith. Mary was a billing clerk for Stride Rite Shoes for many years, an active women, she enjoyed time volunteering at the Somerville Senior Center on Holland Street and watching the Boston Red Sox; but especially enjoyed time spent with her family.

Mary was the devoted mother of Brenda Haney and her late husband Bernard, Sr. of Burlington, Lorraine Rufo of Salem, NH, Anthony Rufo and his wife Kathleen of Weymouth, Jeanne Rufo of Marshfield, Frank Ingemi and his wife Diane of East Boston, Robert Ingemi of Somerville and William Ingemi of North Reading. Beloved Nana of Dawn Buscemi, Lisa Cowles, Lorri McAteer, Kimberly Jouvelakas and George Jouvelakas, Michael Rufo and Angela Rufo, Bernie Haney, Jr. and Eric Huckins. Great-Nana of 13 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Thursday at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, Somerville at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
