Thomas M. Sullivan, of Somerville, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014.

Beloved husband of the late Mary (McNulty) Sullivan. Father of Tony Sullivan and his wife Kate of Lexington and T. Michael Sullivan of Somerville. Grandfather of Nora E. Sullivan of Somerville. Brother of Dorothea M. Gallagher of Rhode Island and the late Lawrence M. Sullivan Jr., Marian Hames, Eileen, Francis, John Joseph Sullivan and Nancy Driscoll.

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway, Powder House Square, Somerville, Friday morning at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Catherine Church, Somerville, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment St. Paul Cemetery, Arlington.

Veteran, WWII U.S. Navy, survivor of the Battle of Leyte Gulf, the largest Naval Battle in American history.

Late member of the Somerville YMCA for over 50 years, member of the USS Johnston, USS Hoel Association, VFW George Dilboy Post #529, former Board member of CASPAR and Somerville Recreation Commission.

Thomas was also a frequent runner of the Somerville Road Race.
