Overnight Green Line Extension Work Announced In Somerville

It could get noisy at night over the next couple weekends.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation on Wednesday announced night work on the Green Line Extension project. Work will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from Oct. 12 through Oct. 28.

Construction will happen in the right-of-way between the Lowell Street and Washington Street bridges in Somerville. Activity includes bright lights and heavy equipment operations, which MassDOT warns can be noisy at times.

Daytime work will continue seven days a week.
